Tailings Distribution Tailings Distribution, West Coast Tasmania Large mine on the West Coast of Tasmania engaged Irrigation Tasmania to change tailings discharge from single point to multiple point discharge, to distribute the tailings more evenly around their tailings dam. Four 315mm poly pipe lines from the pump station were brought to a custom built distribution and control manifold, where pumps and lines could be distributed to different parts of the dam. Manifold was constructed from 630mm poly pipe with 8,300mm valved off takes. Tailings were then distributed in sections with 100mm discharge pipes. This enabled the mine to place tailings around the dam edge, and monitor and control tailings placement. Industrial Dust Suppression
Irrigation Tasmania has onongoing project to design and install dust suppression around a mine's processing plant. Project involves the design and installation of dust suppression around the plant roadways and loading areas. Operators can individually select areas to be watered, depending on the direction and strength of the wind and the amount of dust being created.
